Spiced Caramel Apple Drink

Spiced Caramel Apple Drink

One of the many perks I get from working for a company that allows me to work from home is being able to whip up something special for myself at lunchtime. I’ve been craving a Spiced Caramel Apple Drink lately. The coffee shop that makes them is a little bit of a drive for me, and I only get 30 minutes for lunch. It’s a really simple recipe. You won’t even miss the coffeehouse version of this spiced apple drink.

There’s just something about a warm apple drink that just brings comfort on a chilly day. I love this as an afternoon drink because it is caffeine free. I won’t be awake all night from having caffeine too late in the day! Not only is this a great treat at lunchtime, this is also great to make on a cool evening in the Fall or on a day you’re snowed in, watching movies on the sofa.

Here’s what I used for ingredients:

12 oz Simply Apple Pure Pressed Apple juice (They didn’t compensate me to use this; I really love this juice!), or apple cider
3 tsp Aspen Mulling Cider Spices (This company did not pay me to say or use this; I really do love these spices!)
Whipped cream (use as much or as little as you like)
Caramel syrup (use as much or as little as you like)
Yield: 1 Serving

To prepare using a milk steamer/frother:

Pour the apple juice or apple cider into a stainless steel frothing cup. Add the spices and stir to combine. Steam the apple juice according to the manufacturer’s instructions, until it reaches 150 degrees Fahrenheit.

Drizzle caramel syrup around the inside walls of a coffee mug.

Pour in the steamed apple juice or cider into the coffee mug, carefully. It will be hot; use caution.

Top the caramel apple drink with whipped cream. Drizzle more caramel syrup on top, using as much or as little as you like.

Serve it up! Be careful as the Spiced Caramel Apple Drink is extremely hot!

To prepare by stovetop:

Pour the apple juice or apple cider into a small saucepan. Add the spices and stir. Heat the juice or cider on medium heat until the temperature of the juice reaches 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a whisk, whisk the juice carefully to create a little frothy consistency. Keep in mind, it won’t froth as much as milk would.

Drizzle some caramel syrup into a coffee mug around the inside walls.

Carefully ladle the hot apple juice or cider into the mug. The juice or cider will be extremely hot; use caution.

Top the spiced apple drink with whipped cream. Drizzle more caramel syrup on top of the whipped cream, using as much or as little as you like.

Time to drink and enjoy! The Spiced Caramel Apple Drink will be hot; use caution.

Cheers to what we have left of this Fall season! Make a few extra batches and share with a friend or a special someone. This is a great drink to enjoy sitting by a nice cozy fire.
